1st November - Race review

Horse: Zaarito
Price Advised: 8/1
ISP: 11/2
BSP: 7.35
Position: Unplaced

A quick review of today’s tip…

Zaarito travelled well in the lead until the home turn, at which point he seemed to empty completely.
It looked as if he may have suffered a physical problem (such as bleeding) – but if this had been the case, I’m sure he would have been pulled up by his jockey.
Whatever, he was beaten very quickly – and his jumping, which had been OK, if a little sketchy to that point, got significantly worse over the final few fences.
The horse was very tired when he crossed the finishing line.
The other horse I was interested in, Cornas, ran an excellent race to finish second. In truth, he would only have finished third if Captain Chris had not unseated after the last – but it was still a good performance.
However, today’s race suited him very well and he did have a fitness advantage over the rest of the field, so he could be tricky to place for the rest of the season.
Both the winner (Medermit) and Captain Chris, came out of the race with credit – as did third placed Oiseau de Nuit.
It still remains to be seen whether the first 2 names can become championship class over fences – but today’s performances didn’t result in that possibility being dismissed.
